Why choose a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)?

Finding credible nutrition advice can be really challenging. There’s tons of information out there and sifting through what’s real and what’s not is quite the task. While anyone can call themselves nutritionists, Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs or RDs) have completed years of education and ongoing professional training which includes an intensive year of fieldwork similar to a Doctor’s residency. We are licensed by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and credentialed by the New York State Department of Education.   As Registered Dietitians, we consider ourselves to be qualified experts in our field, allowing us to help our clients cut through the misinformation and provide streamlined, individualized and science based nutrition care.

What is the difference between a RDN, Nutritionist, and Health Coach?

Like we mentioned above, an RDN has not just completed years or education, but is also licensed by the academy and often times credentialed by their state. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. Some may have years of schooling and a masters in science while others may just be enthusiasts. Because we believe that nutrition is an important part of health care, we also think it’s important to understand whose hands you’re putting your health in.
